In the silence of night
I called out,
but from my mouth, there came no sound,
so there came no reply.
Blinded by darkness,
I looked all around.
But not the faintest glimpse of light,
could be found.
I reached out my fingers,
desperately trying to feel.
But I felt nothing there,
there was nothing to touch.
I breathed in deeply,
hoping to catch the scent of something familiar.
But there was nothing there,
not even the air.
Now clutching at straws, my last chance to taste .
But what could I taste in this god forsaken place,
So I bit down hard into my lip, to taste my blood.
But there was nothing,
No pain
No wound
No taste of blood
Appropriately unnerving.
