My eyes

Updated: Oct 30, 2024

Look deeply into my eyes,

tell me what you see.

Am I still the same man,

that I used to be.

Have I become a burden,

did I ruin the plans we made.

I’m sorry but I had no choice,

this disease has chosen me.

Has my disease taken,

a part of me away.

Was it the part of me,

that you loved every day.

Look deeply into my eyes,

tell me what you see.

Am I still the same man,

that I used to be.

Hi Darrell, with your permission I would like to post your poem on our social media pages as part of Parkinson's awarenss month. There is no pressure but I'd be grateful if you could reply with a yes or a no.

 Thanks Ali

Hi

I have just been looking through my poetry to see if I have ever written anything decent.

It’s been a struggle recently. But seeing this comment all be it too late has given me a bit of a lift. And I thank you for that. For future reference feel free to use any of my poems in the future.
