Cloud Hands

Updated: Sep 5, 2023

In the leafy silence of the dawn hour

I came back to the garden

Before the rising of the sun,

as watercolour ribbons warmed the sky

I took my stance

Feet firmly planted skin to earth

and filled my lungs with twilight air

as warm and sweet as summer wine

A tender breeze caressed my hand

which slowly turned towards the tree

Branchlike my arms rose as I turned

in rhythmic patterns through the form

each pass and flow a moment’s grace

connecting root to finger,

heart to leaf

until at last, the magic done

and still for now

I met the day

I'm blown away by the contrast stylistically with what I've read before, mate, not only that, but you've done both parts of the challenge in one!

You do write beautifully of your connection with the world around you, nicely written

i don’t think so.I’m not actually certain it’s finished🙄. (More edits now incorporated) During the hot lockdown summer I used to rise early and do my tai chi in the garden. It was a wonderful feeling of calm and stillness. I havent got out of bed that early for ages now. Lazy old git prefers to lie in bed and read
