Once there was a pretty girl
Her name , it doesn’t matter
Has take-always each and every night
Now she gets fatter. And fatter
She was only sixteen, only sixteen
And I loved her so
But my ahpge now is seventy two
So off to the jailhouse i go
You shake my nerves
And you ratttle my brain
All your nagging is driving me insane
My pistol is primed
You have nagged too many times
Goodness Gracious, my pistoll has fired
That must be my gal
Yours don’t look like that
That must be my gal
Yours don’t look like that
I know my woman, she’s so round and fat
Del Shannon taking his hat off to Larry
Sam Cooke reminisces younger days
Jerry Lee fires through the Sky
Carl Perkins is simply Gone three times
classic Colven, nice to hear you again fellah
Some old classics nicely mis-remembered. Keep on rockin my friend
I have to confess this one left me flumuxed and intrigued. I'm guessing all the references are songs so now you have me googling songs as well as Del Shannon, Sam Cooke, jerry Lee and Carl Perkins. I always learn something from your poems Colven.🙂
