As the hours slip away,
from a hot summer’s day
The sky that was blue,
is now changing it’s hue
As the sun’s golden glow,
starts sinking below.
It paints the sky red,
as it lays down its head.
It’s time to go now,
Time to sleep.

Nice and gentle 👍
Concise and poetic. It's grand.
