More or Less

In Art Class, we were told that

Mondrian was a father of Minimalism.

He preached the gospel that less is more.

Pare your works down to their core.

I followed that tenet for many years

But now consider it too austere.

As Shakepeare wrote,

'Let there be excess...'

So, restrict your opus

Under duress.

Except for a Strippagram,

I confess.

To make a point, not too raw -

In that case, less is truly more!
