Voices- Parkinson Disease Awareness Day April 2023

a lone voice among deaf ears

the perception of you clouded

the label attached to you

too brief and incorrect

lack of knowledge is a poor bedfellow

understanding is what is required

the former and the latter

walk hand in hand

when all lone voices join together

deaf ears are disturbed

those of us with the knowledge

have to tell the world make them aware

living with Parkinson’s Disease is nobody’s dream

our former selves slowly bids adieu

our strength and courage help us to carry on with dignity

we use our voice as a collective to be heard.
