THE BEST IN THE WORLD (updated)

The best in the world can be done without

A saying my Mam would use

Her Mam said it before she went

At 49 forever left bemused.

So now we've arrived here altogether

Can we agree that line is true

How can we omit all the good times

The chats and sparkly shoes

You see, my mam was one of a kind

An original genuine and true

Didn't realise how comedic she was

But the look and smile were just for you.

For each and every one of us

She had the time to talk

Advice was given, maybe not taken

Her presence though, was enough.

I'm not sure how we go on forward

Now the time has come to move on

I challenge anyone to disagree with this saying

The best in the world has just gone.
