The family table is groaning with the weight of Sunday roast Lovingly prepared in honour of your imminent departure. The overly ambitious profiterole challenge debated once more Amongst chatter, smiles and the warmth of all that is familiar. In these uneasy, uncertain times, one last purposeful embrace Always a remedy for the maternal instinct of fierce protection and concern. As you close the door behind you, I whisper a prayer for your safe-keeping. It is never easy watching you leave.
