Hello Again, Poetry Lovers,
And so we reach the end of another year together. So far in 2025 we have between us shared 188 poems which have been collectively viewed 5,600 times by 600 different visitors. There are now over 1500 of our poems collected together in the Poets Wall and they are all brilliant!
Unfortunately I am finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the Poet’s Wall website and am very conscious that there are now many links that do not work and complete sections that have not been updated since they were first created.
In an attempt to mitigate this I’m opening a new group back on Facebook where we first began years ago as part of Parkinson’s Art. The Poets With Parkinsons public page has been there all along and poems can be posted there by both Members and non-Members as comments in response to the prompts. There they can be read by anybody and are open to public comment.
The new private group will be visible to Members only, who will recieve a personal invitation shortly. There we are free to post anything we like (within the guidelines of the group) So we can post our poems, jokes, art, music, cries for help and whimpers of pain and talk to one another freely.
In the spirit of PWP this will be a friendly, safe and welcoming place where you will always find a friendly ear. Let us know how you’re getting on. Or not. The website will remain open and functional till it stops working of its own accord and new Members who want to contribute will continue to be welcome subject to our standard "vetting" procedure to keep out robots and snakeoil vendors.
Along the same lines I no longer have a Pro Zoom account so next week's Christmas Social will take place on Google Meet. RSVP on the site as usual and you will recieve the login in the familiar way. There is no need to download anything or have a Google account to attend. Hoping to see a lot of you there. book your place here
Peace, Love, and Christmas cheer
Martin
