Answered Prayers

No rules in meter, rhyme, nor lines per verse.
Start with please and end with thank you
Non-believers may want to practice or rehearse.
No cursing or bargaining – all impromptu.
Must be ready to act or accept and move on.
Answers to prayers can be subtle with a dash of irony.
No time to mull over options or opinions.
Later, ponder if it was an answer or a request for clarity.
Squandered a few answered prayers
Caught off guard, waiting for a better choice.
Avoid saying prayers aloud if embarrassed to share.
At least speak in a low, reverent voice.
In short, no quid pro quo and be polite.
Prayers can help shed light.

Great writing
I enjoyed this at the Open Mic Alice and I am glad you have shared it here too.
